Make a Donation

The League strives to provide the best service to our customers the animals ”since being founded in 1949. When you make a donation to the League for Animal Welfare, you can be sure your donation is being used to further our mission.

Donate Different Ways
The League for Animal Welfare is a 501(c)(3) organization and therefore all donations are tax-deductible. There are three different ways you can make a donation to the shelter.

Our Funds
There are different types of funds to which you can donate.

General Fund
Money donated to the general fund is used for necessary expenses such as food, vet expenses, cleaning supplies, and utilities.

Spay/Neuter Fund
This fund helps low-income pet owners pay for the spay/neuter surgery.

  • A $100 donation will cover four dog spay/neuter vouchers or five cat spay/neuter vouchers.

My Last Hope Fund
All money is specifically used for the medical expenses of these special animals.

Adoption Van Fund
One extremely generous donation started it, now we need to keep it going! The cost of overhead on the van is beyond our comprehension right now. We’re going to need to staff it, clean it, garage it, and feed it LOTS of gas. Please help us keep it going!

Be a Sponsor
Maybe you can’t adopt one of our pets, but one definitely appeals to you. The solution?  Sponsor your favorite pet, or let us pick one for you!  You can also sponsor an animal as a gift to a friend who has everything already.  They will receive a special Thank You card from their shelter buddy.

    • A $200 donation will buy one week of litter for all of our cats.
    • A $100 donation will either buy heartworm preventative for all of our dogs for one month, one week of food for them, or provide the medical care for one new dog intake.
    • A $75 donation will provide the medical care for one new cat intake.
    • A $50 donation will cover the cost of two weeks of food for our Jenny Craig room cats.
    • A $25 donation will provide an Easy Walk Harness for our stronger dogs, who many volunteers simply cannot walk without this special tool.

Other Contributions
There are other ways you can make a donation to the League for Animal Welfare.
Consider the League in your estate planning. Ask your financial advisor about the tax advantages of donating appreciated assets or establishing a charitable remainder trust.

Become a League for Animal Welfare member.
Purchase a $2 Kroger gift card from the League and reload the card with additional value when you shop at Kroger. Every time the League reaches $5,000 or more in reloads, we earn 4% of the total amount. The gift card can also be used at Kroger fuel centers. The more you reload your card, the more money we can earn! To purchase a gift card, either stop by the League or mail $2 with your address and a note that you would like to purchase a Kroger card.
