About The Clinic

The League completed construction on the Sis & Dick Miller Wellness Clinic in the late fall of 2019. Though its grand opening was delayed by Covid, we have been providing spay/neuter, wellness, and urgent care services since 2022. We now serve more than 2,000 local families and their pets each year!

The Clinic is focused on providing preventative services that help keep pets healthy, happy, and with their loving families. This includes:

  • Affordable spay/neuter surgeries for cats and dogs (by appointment; Clermont County residents only)
  • Affordable trap/neuter/return services for free-roaming (community) cats (by appointment; Clermont County residents only)
  • Affordable vaccine clinics (walk-in on Fridays from 11am-1pm; not limited by County. Not available April 26-May 10, 2024)
  • Affordable wellness services, including basic blood tests and microchipping, during spay/neuter or vaccine clinic visits.
  • Veterinary Assistance Program for urgent care (cannot accommodate emergency care needs). (Clermont County residents only; must income-qualify and complete application. Call for more information).

Please call the League at 513-735-2299 to make an appointment for spay/neuter or TNR surgeries; for vaccine clinic schedules; or for our Veterinary Assistance Program application.

Cat in trap

What is TNR?

Trap/Neuter/Return is a humane method to reduce the free-roaming (feral and stray) cat population in our communities. Cats who live outside with no known owner are humanely trapped; brought to a veterinary clinic to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated; and then returned to the outside location where they were trapped to live out the rest of their natural lives, kitten-free! TNR is appropriate for both feral (wild) cats; and stray (tame) cats.

The League is committed to making trap/neuter/return (TNR) accessible to Clermont County residents and the community cats they care for.

Why is TNR Important?

The League takes in about 1,500 cats in need of shelter each year, and most of those are stray cats and kittens. We receive roughly 3 times more requests for sheltering assistance for cats than we have space in our shelter. TNR is critical for reducing the cat population and stopping the cycle of kittens that are overwhelming our local animal shelters. There simply isn't enough space in shelters for all the cats needing care - and TNR is a humane and safe way to control the population. It's also the ONLY option for feral (wild) cats, who are not socialized to humans and cannot safely live in shelters or homes.

I Feed Cats/Have a Neighbor Who Feeds Cats - How Do I Get Started?

The great news - thanks to the generous funding from the Joanie Bernard Foundation and the Dorothy B. Francis Charitable Foundation, TNR is free for area residents! The funding provides spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, and an eartip at no cost to area residents.

If you are living in Clermont County, and there are free-roaming cats in your neighborhood, call us at 513-735-2299.

We will talk you through how to:

  • Get access to and how to use humane live traps (you can rent them from us with a $100 refundable cash deposit; or buy at your local feed supply or home maintenance store!)
  • Tips on how to trap cats (even the tricky ones!)
  • Schedule the cats for surgery (which take place on Tuesday mornings at 7:30am at the League)
  • Return the cats to their colony, and provide the level of care that you're comfortable with.
Vaccinated and Loved

Thank you, Petco Love!

You can find information about general pricing here. Please note that pricing may vary if you qualify for any of our subsidized services - call us at 513-735-2299 for more information.

Can I use pet insurance or CareCredit at the Clinic?

Our clinic strives to provide affordable services for all pet families. We do not accept insurance or CareCredit – but please contact us for options to provide your pet with the care they need at an accessible cost for your family.

Does the Clinic handle emergencies?

Because the Clinic operates with a limited staff, we are not able to handle after-hour or critical-care emergencies at this time. Please contact MedVet Cincinnati (513-561-0069) or Grady Veterinary Hospital (513-931-8675) for emergencies that require immediate attention.

Can I get my monthly heartworm and flea preventative at the Clinic?

Yes! Please note that these medications are by prescription, so we will need to see your pet at our spay/neuter or vaccine clinic if we have not seen them within the last year. After that, we are able to provide your pet with flea and heartworm preventatives for up to a year.

The Clinic offers such affordable prices- am I still getting the best veterinary care?

Yes! The Clinic’s mission is to offer affordable veterinary care so that no pet owners have to delay needed care for their beloved pets because of cost. We are able to provide top-notch care at affordable prices thanks to the support of our friends and donors – and never at the expense of the very best veterinary care for your pet!
